Soon Google To Provide More Advertising Space In Search Results And Google Maps

Google Maps

In the coming months, Google is going to provide more space for advertisers to boost their business in the local searches. With more and more people becoming inclined towards mobile devices, Google has decided to experiment on its ad campaigns. One of the immediate results of such an experimental move is the appearance of more ads on Google Maps to find convenient business locations and boost in-store purchases. Also, it has decided to provide more space for advertisers by increasing the character count for headlines and ad bodies. Thus, Google’s plan is to provide maximum convenience for both consumers and advertisers.

So, do not be surprised if you see ads popping up on Google Maps while you are driving because this is going to happen often within the next few months. You will get to know all about the shops and local businesses located along your route. It is a new technique of Google to make local businesses reach out to their target consumers without much difficulty. The vice president of Google’s search ads, Jerry Dischler said in an interview that the high interaction between consumers, mobile devices and physical stores is a great opportunity for commercial purposes. However, Google did not divulge any information about when the ads will start popping up on Google Maps or other places.

Why Google chose Google Maps to show advertisements?

Google Maps is an effective tool to find directions to your destination, locate bus routes and/or find significant places to visit like parks, recreational spots and stores. Hence, it comes as no wonder that Google chose it to display advertisements on stores and places that you would like to visit on your way. Moreover, its features are completely free and easily accessible. Hence, the “Promoted Pins” that are going to appear in the Google Maps will help the users to locate convenient places along their route. Very soon companies will be paying Google to appear in Google Maps thus enhancing its overall search business.

The changes in character count for advertisements

Not only is Google going to provide more scope for advertisers to appear on search results but it is also going to provide more space to describe those ads. Presently, it offers 25 characters for headlines and 70 characters for descriptions but in a few months it is going to change to 70 characters for titles (headlines) and 80 for descriptions. You will get more space to describe your ads in a better way, providing more information and chic lines to catch eyeballs. Advertisers are surely going to love this change and users too.

Changes in display advertisements

With Google hell bent on making its platform more effective for advertisers, it is going to allow display advertisements to provide images along with their simple headlines and descriptions. Furthermore it is going to renovate the local business pages to enhance the experience of users and help them find out all about offers and discounts from any particular store’s inventory. Google is also working on ads that are based on locations like your nearest gas stations or coffee shops to provide more scope for local businesses to appear on search results. All of these changes will be taking place in a few months, although it is uncertain when.

When the changes do actually take place, you will find Google Maps flooded with ads but not compromising on user experience. Google understands very well that it cannot jeopardize user experience at any cost. Otherwise, all the efforts that it is putting into this new endeavor will go down the drain. So, what do you think about the changes Google are making towards its search advertisements? You can put down your opinions in the comments section provided below. Have a sweet day!
