Will The Live Video Map On Facebook Have The Same Fate As Live Tab?

Live Video Map On Facebook

Now, video is something that Facebook seems to be in love with. Not much time has passed after the social network rolled out the video streaming feature. And it has again come up with an exciting update yet again. Guess what? Yes, you are right! It is to do with videos again. This time it is the live Video Map on Facebook. For now, the only limitation is that that it will be accessible to the desktop users only.

The option for new live Video Map on Facebook can be found under the apps-list on the left of Facebook home page. This feature lets the user view live streaming of videos on world map. The map in question has a rather simple look and it is filled with big and small blue dots all over. These blue dots are the area where the user can watch the videos. The videos would start playing as soon as the mouse is hovered lover the blue dots. The greater the number of viewers, the larger are the blue dots.

The live Video Map on Facebook, however, is not being streamed on all parts of the world. While the availability of this new Facebook feature is confined to a few, it also depends on the time zone of the place. At least this is what the authorities of the social network had to say when asked about the unavailability of the feature at few places. Suppose, place X has larger blue dot than place Y. It would indicate that place X has a larger number of viewers than the latter.

As already said, the Video Map feature will appear only on the desktop versions of the social network. It remains a challenge for Facebook to introduce in the smartphones too. Availability of the feature on smartphones will make the feature all the more acceptable, because in the present times people hardly turn to the desktop to open Facebook. Hoping in the least that this live Video Map on Facebook would have a similar fate as the Live Tab that had appeared for few Android users that appeared in the navigation bar and made the entire interface look black on scrolling down.
