Microsoft Bot: The Emerging Rival To Google Assistant And Viv

Microsoft Bot

After Google announced its assistant bot in the Google I/O developers’ conference recently and the Siri creators developed Viv, Microsoft decided that it won’t stay back at any cost. Accidentally, it has revealed its intentions in a job listing for an engineer on the new project and the media has taken a note of it immediately. In the job listing, it described one Microsoft bot as one which will take orders from messenger platforms like Skype, WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, SMS and carry them out just like a human assistant will do. You can make reservations, book appointments and do lots of stuff with the help of the bot. So, you see how Google Assistant and Viv are being considered as its rivals? The three are similar in many respects especially in providing services by integrating artificial intelligence.

Already Microsoft is working hard to develop productivity assistants. The Microsoft bot framework which was introduced at the Build developer conference in the month of March, acts as an effective platform for developers to build bots and integrate them in their apps to provide maximum convenience to the users. This platform is presently working on specialised bots like Bing Image bot, Bing Music bot, Caption bot, Summarize bots and etc. The Microsoft bot will be known as the Bing Concierge bot and it will work similar to that of Google Assistant and Viv.

What does Google Assistant and Viv do and how is that going to be any similar to Bing Concierge Bot?

Microsoft Bot AI

The Google Assistant is an extension of the Google Now, the virtual assistant which aims to rival Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri. If you need to search for some information or run errands, Microsoft bot will do it all for you. It will analyze complicated voice commands and provide services accordingly. The bot is an enhancement in the project and Bing Concierge bot is all set to provide the same kind of experience that Google Assistant and Viv do. The voice assistant trend began in 2011 with Apple’s Siri and since then, it has been a hot thing for developers all over. The Bing Concierge bot will make way for an enhanced communication between the user and the messaging platform by carrying out orders and providing services accordingly.

Two way conversation with easy resolution to queries

According to the job listing report, the Microsoft bot will create a two-way conversation method with relevant questions and their answers. It will just be like talking to an assistant in the virtual world who will help you complete your tasks on time. If you wish to book a place in your favorite restaurant and ask the bot to do so, it will in turn ask you relevant questions like how many people do you wish to reserve the place for. When you answer such questions, it will move forward and carry out your order just the way you want.

What can you expect from the Bing Concierge bot?

Microsoft has not commented anything on its bot project yet, but if things turned out according to their plans, the Bing Concierge bot will soon be put to effective use in the messaging platforms. Then we can do umpteen things like book a place for dinner, book tickets for movies, know about the latest events going on around us, search for a particular item from the messaging platform itself and so on. Microsoft bot will carry out our orders just like the way a virtual assistant does. It is going to make our lives way easier and save a lot of our time.

Are you waiting for the Microsoft bot to be launched in the market? Do you think it will be able to take on Google Assistant or Viv? Or it will create a fan following of its own that will not cross their paths? Only time will say that, isn’t it? But if you have any say regarding that, you can let us know in the comments section below. Till then, have a great day and keep dreaming about voice commands taking the app market by storm.
