At a time when expenses are sky soaring, startup TripCommon has come up with an app that helps users save some bucks. Named as HitList, this app has been created by Gillian Morris, the founder of TripCommon.

The app uses simple techniques and keeps track of your travel wishlist. When price of travel to such destinations fall or is at competitive rates, this app alerts you through its notification system about your dream travel.

It also lets you connect with your friends on social networking sites. Thus you are also notified about the places in their wishlist as well.

Being one of the most successful startups, Hitlist has gathered a sum of $500,000 as in April 2014. Investors include Tom Limongello, Christopher M. Schroeder and Grand Central Tech to name a few.

2. Wanelo

Online shopping and mobile shopping are the need for today. With the increasing pressure of work and lesser time to invest on anything else, shopping apps have made it big in the online market.

Wanelo too is essentially a shopping app. However, it does provide you more features than that of your regular shopping app. It invariantly turns your smartphone into a handheld digital shopping mall. Founded by Deena Varshavskaya in 2012, this is one of the successful startups and currently connects over 350,000 stores with their audience. With the volume and variety, the shoppers have a wide range of collections to choose from.

The startup already has over 11 million shoppers shopping through the Wanelo app. Wanelo has also gained name in Pinterest with one of the highest pins. It also had a huge impact on the internet when it nearly doubled its number of unique visitors in the last quarter of 2013.

With email marketing gaining a primary position in the online marketing world, the inbox becomes more of a crowd than a place of necessity. However, to relieve you from the cluttered inbox, the Front app can be quite handy.

This app lets you connect with your inbox in a planned and clutter-free way. It creates a series of emails that you might exchange with your team or your client and presents it in a more organized manner. Thus you can view your emails in proper format than a confusing set of mails that has been replied and responded to.

The app also lets you compose email from the app itself, thus creating an organized set of email exchanges from the beginning.

Founded by CEO Mathilde Collin, it has raised a sum of $1.5 million in its initial funding, another $1 million in its second round and an additional $750,000 in its third round of funding. Being one of the most successful startups, it has got investors like Aaron Harris, Alexis Ohanian, Dave Morin to name a few.

4. MatterMark

A startup for successful startups, Mattermark has been founded by Danielle Morrill. It is essentially a database platform especially designed to cater to the Venture Capital firms. With this platform, venture capitalists can keep a tab on the various new startups that pop up everyday.

The platform collects information from various sources such as social media networking sites, Angel List, CrunchBase data and news etc. It uses its own unique software for gathering the information.

This superpowered startup has already gathered a whooping $9.9 million in its four rounds of funding. Investors for this startup include prominent names like Great Oaks Venture Capital and Andreessen Horowitz.

5. Maker’sRow

Maker’s Row, a USA based company, aims at bridging the gap between manufacturers and the marketplace. This counts among the successful startups and is launched by Tanya Menendez in 2013. The startup had already raised over a million in its seed stage funding.

With the startup, Tanya wished to make manufacturing a simple and easily accessible process. While many brand ideas fail to launch their business, with the lack of manufacturers. Maker’s Row targets such brands and helps them to connect with manufacturers, thus improving production.

Counting among the successful startups, it has received funding from popular venture capitalists like Index Ventures and Comcast Ventures etc.
